Yes, Yushukan accepts the NSW Active and Creative Kids voucher. Two $50 vouchers per child per year, released in January and July. Here is how to use them.
Yes, Yushukan accepts the NSW Active and Creative Kids voucher. It can be applied to either the 3-week Karate Ready program or to ongoing term fees once your child continues. Here is how it works and what to bring.
What changed: Active Kids became Active and Creative Kids
The program was renamed from Active Kids to Active and Creative Kids. If you have seen both names, they refer to the same Service NSW program, now in its updated form. The important difference is the structure: eligible families now receive two $50 vouchers per child per calendar year, released in January and July, rather than one larger annual voucher.
Who is eligible
Parents, guardians and carers receiving Family Tax Benefit Part A can apply for vouchers for each eligible school-aged child. Vouchers are issued through Service NSW and must be redeemed before their expiry date.
Can I use it for karate?
Yes. Karate is an eligible active activity under the program. Yushukan is a registered provider, which means the voucher can be applied to our fees directly.
Where it applies at Yushukan
- Karate Ready (the 3-week starter, $99): one $50 voucher brings the cost down to $49.
- Ongoing term packages (Basic $200, Advanced $300, Accelerate $450): apply one or both vouchers per term, depending on timing.
- Family discounts still apply on top of the voucher where eligible.
How to redeem it
- Apply for your voucher through the Service NSW app or website before you book.
- Mention the voucher when you enquire or when you book Karate Ready.
- We confirm the redemption and apply the voucher amount to your invoice. No surcharge, no admin fee.
Have a voucher? Bring it when you enquire
The simplest approach: bring your voucher details when you contact us and we will confirm how it applies before you start. For the full fee breakdown and to check current program details with Service NSW, see our timetable and fees page or check directly at service.nsw.gov.au.
A note for Queensland families
For QLD-resident families training at Yushukan, the FairPlay voucher may apply, but acceptance for NSW-based dojos is not always automatic. Ask when you book and we will confirm.
